What organizations should look for when choosing a Service Provider

With 2022 well under way, Veeam is getting ready to release the latest version of the industry’s largest data protection research endeavor (3,300 IT leaders) on February 22. When you download it, you’ll see that data loss and downtime continue to plague far too many organizations. Unsurprisingly, many of those organizations expect to increase their use of cloud services as part of their data protection strategies.

In the meantime, check out our Data Protection as a Service 2021 report that was published just a few months ago. One of the key areas of the report, beyond the inevitability of cloud and why/where BaaS & DRaaS make sense, was looking at how organizations utilize Service Providers and what distinguishes good MSPs from great ones:

Many organizations focus too much on the “P” (Provider – i.e., capabilities) aspect of MSPs, without looking closely at the “S” (Service – i.e., partnership and knowledge) that they offer.  Said another way, it is relatively easy to copy your data into a cloud repository; the hard part is aligning the recovery capabilities to the needs of the business and curating the solution for the long term.
